I wear a size 34-36 pants, but I had to have the kilt taken out about 3″ to fit comfortably. I measured at both belly button (kilt location) and waist (pants location), and this was tighter than a standard 36″. I was wearing the kilt on the last loop.

I recommend you go a size bigger than what you measure and if its a bit too big, the buckles can take it in.

All that being said, I highly recommend this kilt, very well made, good material, not hot or scratchy. Also the pockets make this very practical for everyday wear. Got lots of complements when I wore it at a party, and I’m now looking for another excuse to show it off!
